Haytham. N. El-Salhat, MD, MBA, FACS, FRCS (Glasg), is a consultant surgical oncologist in UAE, currently serves as the chair of surgical oncology and chief of surgical departments in Mediclinic Airport Road, and the president of the Americal College of Surgeons UAE chapter.
A highly specialized surgical oncologist, with special expertise in breast surgery and Oncoplastic breast surgical techniques, he sought the best of training in the following organs as well, soft tissue Sarcoma, GI, and Pancreatic surgery. Dr. El salhat's laparoscopic skills are among the best in the UAE which places him among the leading surgeons in minimally invasive surgery in the UAE.
He last served as the Chief of Surgery, and Surgical Oncology, Tawam Hospital United Arab Emirates. The Hungarian Board of General Surgery certifies him, as well he carried the Full registry of the specialist of G. Surgery, GMC of the UK, as well as the European Board in General Surgical Oncology and Breast Surgical Oncology.
He is currently one of the few surgeons in the Abu Dhabi emirate who perform laparoscopic oncological surgery with a special interest in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He is a known speaker both at a local and a regional level, with a special interest in rare malignancies (GIST, NETS).
He is the founding member of several Cancer Committees. Dr. salhat is also involved in academia and teaching and has multiple Grants in research in Oncology, he is an adjunct associate professor of surgery in the UAE University Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences He sits on multiple advisory boards involved in Oncology care. has several publications, and book chapters.
