Work up, diagnosis and follow up of malignancies
Dr. Haytham is a surgical oncology consultant, serves as the Medical Director of the oncology service- Al Noor group, UAE. His surgical experience besides his membership in more than one oncology and surgery fellowships enabled him to use the most up-to-date investigations for diagnosing malignant and benign soft tissue masses.
He can easily interpret plain radiography, CT, MRI, bone scintigraphy, and PET scans for defining the tumor anatomic location and extent. He is well trained in diagnostic procedures like Fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB), Core needle biopsy, Incisional biopsy, Excisional biopsy and frozen sectioning and intraoperative cytology. His considerable experience makes him professional in performing invasive colonoscopies and non-invasive measures (virtual Colon CT) to sort out bowel tumors.
He can interpret grade-tumour-node-metastases (GTNM) scheme for staging soft tissue tumors hence helping in patient prognosis. He offers General follow-up care to evaluate local recurrence and distant metastasis of malignant and intermediate tumors.
